Architecture
The location of the building, amid a mixture of greenery and traffic, gives the façade different expressions when viewed from different directions. The large expanse of glass with the entrance and the lobby facing Ringvägen merges into the streetscape. To the west, facing the green space of Eriksdalslunden, a bow-shaped façade follows the pedestrian walkway. The bottom floor is clad in wood, and the glazing reflects the trees in the park. The southern façade is entirely glazed, blurring the distinction between indoors and outdoors. The aim with the hotel rooms was to create an environment that is elegant, stylish and modern. The rooms are partly characterized by a strong architectural steel element. We have chosen to keep both shape and colour of the interiors neutral and subtle, thus allowing the architecture to blend in with the surroundings. The main theme of the hotel’s interior - light background, dark base tones and coloured accents - continue throughout the hotel rooms, where white is contrasted with dark Wenge wood. Textiles with soft beige and cafe latte tones are accented with purple, red and orange colours.
