CLARION LOVES ART

At Clarion Hotel Stockholm, we live for art.

From the beginning, the design and concept of the Clarion Hotel Stockholm was characterized by the ambition to make the hotel into something beyond the ordinary. An early decision was made to bring art to forefront upon the creation of the hotel. A large number of prominent Scandinavian artists were commissioned to create works specially produced for the hotel. In addition to these commissioned works, a number of carefully selected peaces were purchased directly through Scandinavian galleries.

To further create unique and lively surroundings with commitment to art, the hotel periodically hosts exhibitions in collaboration with renowned artists, galleries and museums. This “live” art creates an interesting, pleasing and thought-provoking atmosphere at the hotel and is a strong talking point in both business and pleasure.

At our reception you will find a leaflet guide where you can read about the hotels’ artworks and take yourself around the hotel's permanent exhibition. A more in-depth art book is also available through our reception. For those of you who feel a stronger interest in art, our art consultant Martin Wickström gladly conducts personal art tours at the hotel on request and by reservation. Call 08-462 10 00 for more information.

Fotografiska – A forum for photography.

At Fotografiska, we strive to be a vital centre for contemporary photography. Our ambition is to exhibit world-renown photographers, many of who have never shown in Sweden. Located in the heart of Stockholm, the museum has an exhibition space of 2 500 square meters, and will feature 4 major exhibitions per year and approximately 15 - 20 minor exhibitions. At Fotografiska, we aim to engage and inspire a dialogue on photography via exhibitions, seminars, and courses. In addition to this, we work actively toward the acquisition of contemporary photography for our permanent collection.
