Hans Ekestang exhibits Blues photos
Clarion Hotel Stockholm displays blues photos taken by blues photography giant Hans Ekestang between October 20 and November 20
Hans Ekestang, born 1952, took an early interest in music and photography at an early age and began to photograph musicians during the 60’s. Blues musicians in particular captivated him, and his first blues-photo was published in 1970.
In 1971 Hans Ekestang started his professional career in photography and worked with world renowned Swedish photographer K-W Gullers for 8 years. Hans has been producing works as a professional photographer under his own name Since 1979.
Throughout the years Hans has continued to persue his personal passion and photographed blues musicians, the result of which has in turn become a lifework with tens of thousands of pictures from stages across Sweden, Europe and the USA.
“ For me photography is about conveying an emotion, and this especially holds true with the blues photos. It’s all about expression and feeling. When someone looks at my blues photos I want them to be able to sense and experience the same feeling I had the moment I took the picture.”
