Things to do in Stockholm
Stockholm
has a lot to offer and it can sometimes be difficult to choose. Museums or shopping? A wonderful trip to the outlaying archipelego islands or a visit to a grand castle? The good news is that it's hard to go wrong!

To Do
SoFo - South of Folkungagatan
A section of Södermalm filled with small trendy, arty, quirky and hip boutiques with art, music and design in focus.
Skansen
Established in 1891, Skansen was the world's first open-air museum, and provides first-hand insight into Swedish heritage and traditions with its historical buildings (flown in from all parts of Sweden), its zoo, and the nature it's surroundings. Skansen also hosts a number of events including music, dance, children's theatre and more.
Parks
The city of Stockholm is full of beautiful parks. In close proximity to the Clarion Hotel Stockholm are Eriksdalslunden, Tantolunden and Vita Bergs parken, of which the last two often host performances and live music.
Shopping
NK
Six levels of exclusive department store shopping with everything from fashion to food, a Champagne bar and Personal Shopper service. Address: Hamngatan 18-20. T-bana (metro station): Kungsträdgården.
Drottninggatan
A popular shopping street with both large boutique chains as well as smaller specialized stores. The northern end of the street has a somewhat calmer pace and is home to a number of cafés and restaurants.
Biblioteksgatan och Sturegallerian
Pleasant shopping area with exclusive brand stores shoulder to shoulder with chain stores. T-bana (metro station): Östermalmstorg.
Skrapan
Niche fashion, technology and sport boutiques with good cafés and restaurants. Generous opening hours. Address: Götgatan 76-78.
Svenskt Tenn
Classic Swedish interior design store; one of Sweden's best known. Includes items featuring design pioneer Josef Frank's stunning patterns and colours. SvensktTenn also holds regular design exhibitions. Address: Strandvägen 5.
DesignTorget
Modern design shop with items created by both famous and start-out designers. Here you will find everything from smaller furniture items to smart and practical home products, decorations and much more. Sergels Torg. T-bana (metro station): T-Centralen .
Museums
Nationalmuseum
Sweden ’s leading art and design museum, with collections of older paintings, sculptures, sketches, graphic art, artistic handicrafts and design. Location: Södra Blasieholmshamnen.
Nordiska Museet
Swedish history housed in an amazing building on the island of Djurgården. Features insight into Swedish traditions with art, photographs, fashion and more. Address: Djurgårdsvägen 6.
Historiska Museet
12 000 years of Swedish history with Vikings, gold and silver treasure, medieval art and more. Address: Narvavägen 13-17.
Moderna Museet
One of Europe's largest collections of modern art from the 1900's to present day. Features works from Matisse, Dalì, Picasso and many more. Location: the picturesque island of Skeppsholmen.
For children
Fjärilshuset
A tropical rainforest in the beautiful Hagaparken (Haga park). Walk amongst the butterflies in 25 degree celcius controlled climate all year round!
Gröna Lund
Amusement park and concert venue on the island of Djurgården. Fun for all ages, with great activities, rides and views
Junibacken
This children's museum features a look into Astrid Lindgren's wonderful world of tales as well as characters from other famous Swedish children's books. Children's theatre, Story Train, café / restaurant, bookstore. Location: Djurgården.
